The chapter house derived from my first initial starting house for submission 1 Eqqus. My character, in a nutshell, is a person who keeps to himself and rarely ventures out. I wanted to keep the first house from submission 1 as it was his place of peace and serenity where he could be at one with nature, so established this house as unit 7.
I built my other houses around the concept of boxed, long structural forms which was present in his field of work working in a church, wether it be long boxy hallways or the form of the bell tower.
With this in mind I wanted to create a relationship within all the houses as my client enjoys being one with nature as well as a liking to stay within the comfort of his home. I implemented a path situated on the second level which accesses all houses with the exception of one in which the last house I wanted to be a tranquil reflection place therefore having the most openness to the outside garden.
